Lake Dwellers<\/strong><\/p>\n

The lake glimmers like a mirror,
\nreflecting the sky, the clouds,
\nand the lives of the Maranao people.
\nTheir homes, elevated on stilts,
\nresemble birds resting on reeds,
\ngently swaying on the water’s surface.<\/p>\n

Children’s laughter fills the air
\nas they jump from wooden platforms,
\nsplashing into the cool depths
\nwhere tales of the Sarimanok and the Hikayat come alive.
\nThe women, with their skilled hands,
\ncreate intricate patterns that echo the lake’s shimmering beauty.<\/p>\n

The men, adept fishermen,
\ncast their nets wide,
\ngathering the lake’s bounty to feed their families.
\nThe lake serves as their lifeline,
\na source of nourishment and inspiration.<\/p>\n

As evening falls, the sky ignites with color,
\nand the lake becomes a canvas
\npainted in shades of orange and purple.
\nThe Maranao gather on their balconies,
\nsharing stories and songs,
\ntheir voices harmonizing with the soft sound of the waves.<\/p>\n

The lake stands as a quiet observer of their lives,
\na timeless connection between the people and the water.<\/p>\n

Lake and Mountain<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two brothers, born of the same mother,
\nventured far from their family home.
\nOne, captivated by the glistening water,
\nmade his home by the lake, his heart aglow.<\/p>\n

He beheld in its depths a tranquil life,
\na wealth of fish and a fertile land.
\nHe raised his house on stilts, out of sight,
\na refuge amid the gentle rain.<\/p>\n

The other, longing for the ancient trees,
\nthe rustling leaves, the mountain breeze,
\nascended higher, where the cool air frees
\nthe spirit from the comforts of the lowlands.<\/p>\n

He discovered peace in the vibrant green,
\na hunter’s life, a freedom profound.
\nHe built his home where the forest shines,
\na life woven with nature’s dreams.<\/p>\n

And so, the brothers chose their paths,
\none by the lake, one in the mist.
\nThe Maranao, blessed by the water’s grace,
\nthe Higaunon, thriving in the mountain’s embrace.<\/p>\n

Though fate had led them apart,
\ntheir shared lineage remains forever.
\nA bond unbroken, though hidden from view,
\nchildren of the same mother, at peace.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Will Sarimanok Ever Grace Mindanao Again?<\/strong><\/p>\n

When will Sarimanok, with its vibrant wings,
\nbring its grace to this land, so weary and blue?
\nWhen will its cry, a sweet melody that sings,
\nquiet the guns and heal the streets anew?<\/p>\n

Sarimanok, a legend, a mythical sight,
\na symbol of freedom, shining ever bright.
\nPeace, a fragile bird, elusive and rare,
\nlongs to take flight but finds itself ensnared.<\/p>\n

By shadows of conflict and whispers of dread,
\nby the echoes of war that linger instead.
\nThe people of Mindanao, with hearts so sincere,
\nyearn for the moment when peace will appear.<\/p>\n

When Sarimanok lands, with fish in its beak,
\na symbol of abundance for all souls to seek.
\nWhen harmony thrives and justice prevails,
