\nNganda\u2019 tuwi ni mata hunit ni hinang
\nDikayu\u2019 pangaddatan hambey kabiyasahan
\nDanda lalla mag-anda\u2019 ti magpandang
\nAtoa bey mandu\u2019, tantu pangalangan.<\/p>\n

III
\nLai kow patokko\u2019 minsan magduwa-ruwa
\nTalow ta jampa sa\u2019 kinum papanda\u2019
\nKinuman nu ngalapal salama-lama
\nPatatak taindan ku ma pantan ya lowa.<\/p>\n

\nSakadjap naan baran \u2018mba tahati
\nParasahan takissa pabidda\u2019 pasiddi
\nTangan tenne kok tuut lamma nuwi
\n\u201cLove at first sight\u201dtutu na dali\u2019!<\/p>\n

Destiny on the Footbridge
\n<\/strong>(A poem to the Love of my Life)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Friday, eight O\u2019clock you passed by the
\nfootbridge
\nEyes have touched bashful of each other
\nMy heart astounded; I was delighted
\nYou must be the answer to my prayer!<\/p>\n

Looking directly in the eyes is tough
\nA manner not accustomed to that
\nWoman and man gazing at first meet
\nElders have taught, a ban indeed.<\/p>\n

You halted despite the vacillating thoughts
\nThough anxious yet a smile was forged
\nYour smile has spoken of forever
\nYour sight by the footbridge engraved to
\nremember.<\/p>\n

At that very instant I was indiscernible
\nThe feeling I had so special and rare
\nMy hands were cold my knees went weak
\nThis might be the \u201cLove at first sight\u201d I seek!<\/p>\n

After Isha I could hear the voice
\nYour guitar sounded Den Bisa and TM Boys
\nThe words of tenderness your songs conveyed
\nThat you have liking of the maiden next door.<\/p>\n

We fell in love for the first time
\nI was your first and you were mine
\nJoined together in His hands
\nHopeful to love only once.<\/p>\n

I still recall you were wearing yellow
\nThe hue reminds me of your coming
\nThe man by the footbridge that morning
\nI didn\u2019t notice my fate unfolding.<\/p>\n

When the moon is bright, I pray
\nAlone at the rooftop to the Lord I say:
\n\u201cGrant my destiny in this world to the
\nhereafter\u201d
\n\u201cIn life and death shall be my partner.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since the beginning I have understood
\nLove withstands when you heed no more
\nSpilled gossips the heart endures
\nGrief of parting has no cure.<\/p>\n

Our tale has its ups and downs
\nLasting marriage can fail- it\u2019s bound
\nDo not fret of your disparity
\nLet God rule, The Almighty.<\/p>\n

Fifteen years as though a moment
\nGone through many trails, my intent held
\ntightly
\nMarriage is serene with trust and piety
\nWith time, to shatter love won\u2019t be easy.<\/p>\n

The footbridge is the witness to our affection
\nEach time you pass the woman at the kitchen
\nThe teaching of elders has been forgotten
\nWhen our eyes meet, everything makes sense.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the footbridge Friday morning, the inception
\nAt the footbridge seen in that direction
\nAt the footbridge when you turned toward your
\nright
\nAt the footbridge the knot has been tied.<\/p>\n

To the Lord of the World the gratitude is due
\nOur fate was laid because of You
\nWe crossed paths, the love You willed
\nAt the footbridge, the call of destiny was sealed.<\/p>\n

Life certainly has its ending
\nIn this world we shall part by passing
\nHoor ul Ein would come as inviting
\nDon\u2019t be lured keep in mind your darling.<\/p>\n

The sharing of my poem has to end
\nMy love to you from the footbridge to the
\nafterlife
\nAt the Straight Way we vowed to unite
\nIf Allah wills! Our dream shall be fulfilled.<\/p>\n
