Children laughed as they ran on the dusty and crowded streets and played under the shade of tarpaulins. Near them, vendors called out, selling fruits, rice, and colorful and delicious delicacies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cOh bolad aya, bolad! Telo so magatos!\u201d <\/em>We have dried fish here, it\u2019s very affordable! A vendor shouted cheerfully.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSigopan, dolsi!<\/em> Cigarettes, candy!\u201d another called out.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSilopin aya, limalad bo.<\/em> Plastic bag for only five pesos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The air smelled of ripe fruits, warm rice, and sweet delicacies. Voices mixed and danced together, filling the <em>Padian<\/em> with life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the children was Sadiqa, a cheerful Meranaw girl who loved playing after helping her family at home. She always wore her smile and greeted elders politely as she passed by the market stalls.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMapiya kapipita, Babu,\u201d <\/em>she said politely.<\/p>\n<p>The elders smiled. <em>\u201cMapiya kapipita, Sadiqa!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Before she left home, her Ina had gently held her shoulders and looked into her eyes.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cTakolay,<\/em> dear,\u201d her <em>Ina<\/em> reminded her softly, \u201calways be honest. Your actions show who you are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, <em>Ina<\/em>,\u201d Sadiqa replied, nodding with a smile.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Sadiqa nodded and ran toward the <em>Padian<\/em>, her mother\u2019s words quietly staying in her heart.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As Sadiqa played near the vendors, something caught her eye. A tiny sparkle peeked through the dust on the ground. Curious, she knelt down and brushed the dirt away.<\/p>\n<p>It was a small golden coin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Her eyes widened. She quickly looked around\u2014the <em>Padian<\/em> was busy, people walking, talking, buying, selling.<\/p>\n<p>Sadiqa closed her fingers around the coin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could buy candy,\u201d she thought, glancing at the nearby stalls.<\/p>\n<p>But her smile faded. The coin did not feel like hers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t mine,\u201d she murmured.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sadiqa tried to keep playing, but she felt uneasy. The laughter around her sounded far away. The coin in her pocket seemed to whisper, reminding her that it belonged to someone else.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Feeling restless, Sadiqa sat beside Babu Salima, an elderly woman resting near the playground.<\/p>\n<p>Babu Salima noticed Sadiqa\u2019s quiet face and smiled gently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy so serious, Sadiqa?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n<p>Sadiqa hesitated.<\/p>\n<p>Babu Salima spoke softly, as if she already knew.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA Meranaw\u2019s honor is seen in what they do when no one is watching.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sadiqa\u2019s heart began to beat faster.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She stood up suddenly. \u201cI know what I must do,\u201d she said, her voice firm. Holding the coin tightly, she walked through the <em>Padian<\/em>, stopping at every stall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid you lose something important?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most shook their heads\u2014until a tired fruit seller gasped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy coin!\u201d the woman cried. \u201cI lost my golden coin! I was saving it for my child\u2019 school needs!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sadiqa\u2019s face lit up with relief.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is yours,\u201d she said, placing the coin into the woman\u2019s hand.<\/p>\n<p>Sadiqa returned the coin, and the vendor\u2019s face filled with relief and joy.<\/p>\n<p>The vendor\u2019s eyes filled with tears.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you, <em>Ole<\/em>. You have a good heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She picked a ripe mango and offered it to Sadiqa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease, take this as a reward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sadiqa smiled and gently shook her head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour smile is enough,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That evening, Sadiqa told her parents everything. Her <em>Ama<\/em> smiled warmly and placed a hand on her head. \u201cYou chose integrity,\u201d he said proudly. \u201cThat is greater than any reward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From that day on, the playground near the <em>Padian<\/em> became special to Sadiqa.
